Places to visit
Fort Kochi
This fort was built by the Europeans to mark the place as their settlement. Fort Kochi is a brilliant place with inquisitive merger of the Indian and European style of architecture.
Bolghatty Island
It was built by the Dutch in the year 1744 A.D, and is a popular travel destination with a classy golf course that adds to the British era charm of the island.

Wellington Island
This is a spectacular place. It is a man made island that was made from dredged earth, while deepening the Kochi Port. One can reach the place through ferries and bus services from Ernakulam. There is also a Harbor, an Air Port and a Railway Terminus in this island.
Santa Cruz Basillica Church
Built by the Portuguese, this church was elevated in its rank to a Cathedral by Pope Paul IV in 1558, and later was declared as a Basilica in 1984 by Pope John Paul II.
This is the birthplace of Adi Shankaracharya and is situated on the bank of Periyar River, and is just a few kilometers away from Kochi.
Museum of Kerala History

It is situated 8 Kms away from Eranakulam. It displays important scene of Kerala’s past from Neolithic age to modern period through life-size sculptures. There are many such places in Ernakulam that are worth visiting.
Best Time & Climate
Best time to visit the town is between July and September. The place has moderate temperature.

By Air –The nearest International Airport is at Nedumbassery that is just 20 km away.
By Rail-One can reach here by train, and the main Railway Station is Ernakulam junction, and another one is Kochi Harbor Terminus.
By Road-It is well connected by road to all the major towns and cities.
