Cochin
Day 01: Arrive Kochi (Cochin)
Arrive at the Kochi (Cochin) Airport. Our representative will
escort you to the hotel. After a traditional Indian welcome
at the reception, check in and relax for a while amidst the
comforts of your room. Later, move for a half day city sightseeing
tour of Cochin. Visit Vasco Da Gama Square, Santa Cruz Basilica,
St. Francis Church, VOC Gate, Bastion Bungalow. After a sunset
cruise, return to the hotel and attend the evening Kathakali
dance performance.

Day 02: Kochi
After breakfast at the hotel. Proceed for the sightseeing
of Kochi city visit the Jewish Synagogue (of 1568) which is
the oldest synagogue in the commonwealth. It is an interesting
little place with hand painted willow pattern floor tiles
brought from Canton in China in the mid 18th century. The
synagogue is located in an area called Jew Town which also
is one of the centers of the spice trade in the region
Also visit the ancient Mattancherry (Dutch) Palace built by
the Portuguese in 1557. This palace was presented to
the ruler of Cochin as a gesture of goodwill. The Palace’s
alternative name “Dutch Palace” resulted from
substantial renovations by the Dutch after 1663. The
most important feature of the palace is the astonishing murals
that adorn some of the palace rooms, depicting scenes from
the Ramayana, the Mahabharta and the Puranic legends connected
with Shiva, Vishnu, Krishna, Kumara and Durga.
Another stop is made at the St. Francis Church, the oldest
European built church in India. Constructed in 1503 by the
Portuguese Franciscan Friars, the expedition was led by Pedro
Alvarez Cabral. He famed Vasco de Gama, the first European
to reach India by sailing around Africa, died in Cochin in
1524 and was buried here for 14 years before his remains were
transferred to Lisbon. His tombstone can be seen inside
the church.
Also pay a visit to the amazing Chinese fishing nets
operating on principles of physics advanced for their times.
Returns to hotel for relax.

Day 03: Kochi - Munnar
Get ready after breakfast for your morning drive to Munnar,
where sprawling tea plantations, picture book towns, winding
lanes, trekking and holiday facilities make it a unique experience.
On the way to Munnar, we will take a short visit at Bhoothathankettu
Dam. The reservoir and children's parks are big attractions
here. Check in to your resort and get ready for the special
trip to Pothamedu for an excellent view of the tea, coffee
and cardamom plantations in Munnar. The breath taking scenery
here is ideal for trekking and long mountain walks. Return
to your resort in the evening.

Day 04: Munnar
Munnar gets its name from the Malayalam and Tamil phrases
for 'three rivers' - as the town is situated at the confluence
of three mountain streams, at a height of 5,250 ft above sea
level.This morning after breakfast, visit Mattupetty famous
for its highly specialized dairy farm, the Indo-Swiss live
stock project. Proceed to Mattupetty lake and dam, which is
a very beautiful picnic spot. You could enjoy boating in the
lake and view mountains and landscapes from afar. Onwards
proceed to Echo point famous for the natural echo phenomenon
and then to Top Station offering marvelous views of Munnar
valley below. Munnar is cradled in a valley hemmed in by hills.
Many of its attractions are to be found on its outskirts,
within a radius of 10 to 40 km from the town.
Say hello to the Nilgiri Tahr.Half the world population of
the endangered Nilgiri Tahr lives in the Eravikulam National
Park at Munnar. Friendly as they are, you can pat them or
pose for pictures with them. So meet them and have plenty
to brag about back home. Return to the resort and enjoy the
facilities at your resort.

Day 05: Munnar - Periyar
Get ready after breakfast for your morning drive to Periyar
nestled in spice and rubber plantations. Known to be Kerala's
pride and testimony to nature's splendor, Periyar has a lot
to offer in terms of wildlife. Periyar is famous for its rare
habitat of birds and animals and is one of the most popular
destinations for nature lovers. Check in to your resort and
get ready for your trip to cardamom hills where you could
have a closer look at the spice plantations.The Periyar Wildlife
Sanctuary is one of the places where the chances are pretty
high that you will spot an elephant in the wild at close quarters
and from the safe confines of a boat. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 06: Periyar

Day 07: Periyar - Kumarakom
Get ready after breakfast for your morning drive to Kumarakom.
Kumarakom is a sleepy little village tucked away from the
din and bustle of city life. The Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary
is an Ornithologist's paradise and a favorite haunt of migrating
birds like Siberian stork,darter,heron and teal to name a
few.

Day 10: Kumarakom - Alappuzha Houseboat cruise
Check into the houseboat at 12 noon for 1 Night / 2 Days riding
in the backwaters & small canals. A glide in a houseboat
through the enchanting backwaters is sure to rob your heart.
Palm fringed narrow canals winding through the vast expense
of panoramic sight one can never forgetting less than 15 minutes,
the low hum of the motor and the dazzling afternoon light
have tuned out the noises in your head, the deadlines, the
telephone, the unfinished chapters. Watch the white tire-tread
clouds turn into wisps of animal fur and then disappear.

meals will be provided on the houseboat}
Day 11: Alapuzzha - Kovalam
As you breakfast aboard the houseboat for another day, check
out the spellbinding natural scenery of the backwaters running
through Alapuzzha (famous for houseboats, snake races, lakes,
coir and coconut). Check out the below-sea level farming and
disembark. Drive to Kovalam. On arrival in Kovalam, check
in to the hotel.

Day 12: Kovalam / Kanyakumari / Kovalam
After breakfast, time is free to spend on beaches optionally
you can take sightseeing tour of Trivandrum city, (16 kms)
the capital of the state of Kerala is a beautiful seaside
city built on seven hills. The famous Sri Padmanabhaswamy
Swami Temple is dedicated to Vishnu and is a landmark in the
city. Later drive to Cape Camorin also known as Kanya Kumari
85 kms, this place is at the tail tip end of India, one can
see the 3 seas meet over here (Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean &
bay of Bengal) on arrival visit Kumari Amman Devi Temple,
Vivekananda Rock & Ashram, enjoy sunset.

Day 13: Kovalam
Kovalam has been a favorite haunt of tourist. A massive rocky
promontory on the beach has created a beautiful Bay of calm
waters ideal for sea bathing. The day is free for leisure
at resort, Ayurveda treatment,message, yoga classes, swimming,
beach volleyball, indoor games and learn to cook with spices,
sunbathing, special cultural programs, Catamaran cruising
etc.

Day free in Kovalam for independent activities.

Morning after breakfast, transfer to Trivendrum airport to
take your return flight back home.
